What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down. ![]() So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. And while Emily-the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member-is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both. But when a reluctant visit turns into an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Sure, she's curious about her biological father-the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent-but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Everything Stephanie had ever said about the book was true. One lazy afternoon (in which wasn't really lazy I was really sick) I decided to give this book a go and everything inside of me exploded in delight. (Because the Kindle is really just a means to the end of a loaded bookcase.) I figured free on the Kindle was as safe as it gets and that, in the end, if I decided that I liked it, I'd purchase a hard copy. ![]() Especially not if my friend is telling me that a book is s o completely awesome. Then she noted that there was a limited time special to download it for free on the Kindle and who can say "no" to free? Not me. I am the sort of person that takes "hints" so I figured I had best pick up a copy. I had to read The Green Ember you see, because Stephanie kept mentioning that it was so awesome. ![]() Her work has been translated into several languages. He focused on the "dashing young bachelors" when the real focus of the play is Lady Bracknell, the absurd and beautifully ironic representation of the Victorian mind who was then and has been for over a hundred years Wilde's singular creation and one of the great characters of English literature. Oliver Parker, who directed and wrote the screen adaptation, simply misinterpreted the play. Indeed I think I feel the ground rumbling as he rolls over in his grave, and yes he is actually spinning in anguish. This is an inventive and artful production of Oscar Wilde's play, but I can confidently say that were Oscar Wilde alive today, he would be appalled at the misuse to which his play has been put. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Vorkosigan Saga series Books in Series: Falling Free ( Book 1) Shards of Honor ( Book 2) Barrayar ( Book 3) The Warrior's Apprentice ( Book 4) The Vor Game ( Book 5) Cetaganda ( Book 6) Ethan of Athos ( Book 7) Borders of Infinity ( Book 8) Brothers in Arms ( Book 9) Mirror Dance ( Book 10) Memory ( Book 11) Komarr ( Book 12) A Civil Campaign ( Book 13) Winterfair Gifts ( Book 13.1) Diplomatic Immunity ( Book 14) The Flowers of Vashnoi ( Book 14.1) Captain Vorpatril's Alliance ( Book 15) Cryoburn ( Book 16) Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen ( Book 17) This sprawling epic of sci-fi is a testament to just how much an author can explore a world or concept when they have a dedicated vision. ![]() ![]() Saving Earth Britannica Presents Earth’s To-Do List for the 21st Century. ![]()
